Five things to know about Emuability
Chapter 1 of 5
Built from a genuine passion
Emuability was started by our director after more than 10 years on the front line of disability support, with one belief: people with disability deserve support that is respectful, reliable and genuinely personal. You shape your support, not the system, and we help you move forward on your own terms.
Chapter 2 of 5
Support that is personal
Inviting someone into your home and your daily life takes trust. So we take the time to get the match right, write down how you like things done, and aim to keep the same small team with you. Your goals, your culture and your way of doing things come first.
Chapter 3 of 5
Everyday support, done well
Our team brings hands on experience in personal care, household tasks, community participation, shared living and life skills. We know the NDIS well, and we work closely with families, support coordinators and other professionals so support stays consistent and meaningful.
Chapter 4 of 5
Rights, dignity and choice
We work to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Framework, turn up on time, tell you early if anything changes, and set out clear prices and agreements, so there are no surprises.
Chapter 5 of 5
Support people can trust
Our goal is simple: support people can trust. That includes being honest about what we can and cannot do. If another provider would suit part of your needs better, we will tell you and help you connect with them.
Why I built Emuability
“Walking beside you, never ahead, as you move towards the life you want.”
Hi, I'm Sunita.
I know what it's like to go unheard
When I came to Australia, I left my family and friends on the other side of the world. In a new country, there were days I felt lost, alone and invisible. Nobody should feel that way, least of all in their own home.
Ten years of seeing what's missing
For over 10 years, I've worked in disability support. I worked inside large organisations, as an independent support worker, and in SIL and SDA homes. I've seen support done brilliantly, and I've seen it go wrong.
What stayed with me were the people who weren't being heard. Participants whose needs were missed. Support workers whose concerns went nowhere. I couldn't stay quiet about it, so I didn't. I spoke up, again and again, because I remembered exactly how it felt.
The day I said goodbye
For three years, I supported a participant as she learned new skills, found her confidence and took charge of her own life. The day she moved on, I said goodbye with tears in my eyes and a heart full of pride.
She didn't need me anymore, and that was the whole point.
So I built something different
Emuability is the service I always wished existed. One where participants are listened to properly, and the support workers beside them are listened to as well, because people who feel valued give their best.
We're named after the emu, a bird that can only move forward. That's what we're here for: walking beside you, never ahead, as you move towards the life you want.

Seen as a person first. Heard in every decision. Given a fair go at home, at work and with mates. Always moving forward.
You deserve to belong, not just receive support
Choose a letter to see what it means, and what it looks like in real life.
Belief in People
We see what you can do, not just what you need a hand with, and we back you to go for the things that matter to you.
See it in practice
A young man's NDIS plan includes a goal to find part time work, but he has been told before that it isn't realistic. We start with what he's good at, like his eye for detail and his love of sorting things, and practise job interviews together. Then we work with his support coordinator to line up the right employment supports, so the goal turns into real steps.
See all seven promises
- Belief in People. We see what you can do, not just what you need a hand with, and we back you to go for the things that matter to you.
- Empowered Choice. It's your life and your plan. You decide who supports you, when and how, and we follow your lead. That's what choice and control under the NDIS should feel like.
- Lived Experience Matters. You know your life better than anyone. Whether you live with a physical, intellectual, sensory or psychosocial disability, we listen to you first and shape your support around what you tell us.
- Opportunities to Grow. Whether it's learning to cook a meal you love, sorting out a weekly budget or catching the bus on your own, we help you build the daily living skills you want, one step at a time.
- Nurturing Independence. We do things with you, not for you, so you can do more for yourself at a pace that feels right. When you're ready, we step back.
- Genuine Relationships. You'll see the same familiar faces, people who turn up on time, keep their word and take the time to get to know you and your family.
- Safety with Dignity. Whether we're helping with personal care at home, in SIL or out in the community, we keep you safe without taking over, and we always respect your privacy and your rights.
